چکیده

Phosphorus limitation was found in the fermentation production of lincomycin based on the phosphorus elemental analysis. Phosphorus was thus fed into the fermentation system to improve the lincomycin production, and 16 kg fed-phosphorus increased the lincomycin yield by 14.4% compared to that without the phosphorus feeding. As low concentration of dissolved oxygen limited the growth of mycelia, the phosphorus in the base medium and fed-batch were adjusted to give a more reasonable phosphorus distribution. When the phosphorus in the base medium was decreased to 29.4 kg from 33.4 kg and the fed phosphorus was increased from 16.0 kg to 20.0 kg in a 100 m fermenter, the final lincomycin titer increased by 21.6% compared to that the un-fed process. The mycelia growth and lincomycin production rates were also increased at the production stage. The phosphorus feeding and adjustment distribution strategy might be applied to other industrial fermentation processes to improve the process efficiency and productivity. # 2007 Elsevier Ltd. The dynamic regulation of nitrogen and phosphorus in the early phase of fermentation improves the erythromycin production by recombinant Saccharopolyspora erythraea strain

Background: Erythromycin production often has concern with the consumption rate of amino nitrogen and phosphate, especially in the early fermentation phase. The dynamic regulation of nitrogen and phosphorus was put forward based on the comprehensive analysis of the contents of phosphorus and nitrogen in different nitrogen sources as well as the relations between nitrogen consumption and phospho...

Significantly enhancing recombinant alkaline amylase production in Bacillus subtilis by integration of a novel mutagenesis-screening strategy with systems-level fermentation optimization

BACKGROUND Alkaline amylase has significant potential for applications in the textile, paper and detergent industries, however, low yield of which cannot meet the requirement of industrial application. In this work, a novel ARTP mutagenesis-screening method and fermentation optimization strategies were used to significantly improve the expression level of recombinant alkaline amylase in B. subt...

Temperature dependence of lincomycin production by thermoduric Streptomyces espinosus strains.

In the course of our antibiotic screening program several lincomycin-producing Streptomyces espinosus strains were isolated. These strains show a remarkable temperature dependence regarding the production of lincomycin. At incubation temperatures up to 28°C little or no lincomycin is produced despite good mycelial growth. Incubation above 28°C results in an up to hundred-fold increase of antibi...

Improved production of spiramycin by mutant Streptomyces ambofaciens.

Strain improvement and medium optimization to increase the productivity of spiramycin were carried out. Of oil tolerant mutant strains screened, one mutant, Streptomyces ambofaciens XC 2-37, produced 9% more spiramycin than the parent strain S. ambofaciens XC 1-29. The effects of soybean oil and propyl alcohol on spiramycin production with S. ambofaciens XC 2-37 were studied. The potency of S. ...
